Positive and Pregnant is a film produced in Trinidad and Tobago, directed by Stacy Lela co-founder of The Walker Lela Foundation a women’s empowerment non profit organization, with a Mission to empower women, girls and children by providing support services, case management, basic skills education, and resource coordination, to improve and enhance the quality of life for women, girls and children in Trinidad and Tobago and overseas. The film premiered in commemoration of World AIDS Day 2010 hosted by The Ministry of The people and Social Development, the productions executive Producer is the Embassy of the United States of America and Presidents Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief ( regional office located in Bridgetown, Barbados). The producer of the film Candice Lela Rolingson, whom has been independent researching the prevention of since 2007, to illustrate current and accurate information to be presented , she (Mrs Rolingson) recently signed a contract with CaribbeanTales WorldWide Distribution to market and distribute the film globally. Positive and Pregnant will be screened at major film festivals this year, beginning with the on going film festival CaribbeanTales Film Festival 2011 in Barbados, Positive and Pregnant will can be viewed on Saturday 19th March at the George Washington House at 9pm.

Over the past few weeks approximately four hundred students and other persons, from various institutions/ organizations in T&T, have taken part in an interactive outreach, including a special screening of Positive and Pregnant by Calabash Consortium in collaboration with the Tobago House of Assembly Department of Social Services and Gender Affairs the hosting of Women's International Day 100th year celebration at Mt Irvine bay Hotel in Tobago on the 3rd of March 2011.The screening film Positive and Pregnant is usually followed by a Q&A session and character role-playing .

The twenty four minute will also be screened at the New York International Film Festival 28th April – 5th May 2011 and will be used in Women’s Panorama an outreach to the Dhow Region of Tanzania in Africa to educate women and families on the Prevention of Mother/Parent to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) with the support of Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in Tanzania Africa from 18th – 26th June 2011, Positive and Pregnant ‘s Africa premiere will be hosted by ZIFF . The production has also been entered in the Portobello Film Festival / Caribbean Film Corner , The Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival and many more .

In an effort facilitated by Candice Lela-Rolingson the producer and Executive Director and other officials of The Walker Lela Foundation for women’s empowerment to educate persons on , with an ultimate goal of eradicating the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mothers or parents to children in Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and Africa by the year 2015.
