This a relative of popular Bajan author Orlando Marville – whose own cousin is Leah Marville, the former Beauty Queen… Bernardine had herself immortalised by master sculptor Karl Broodhagen when she was younger, this was taken at Queen’s Park earlier this month.

Barbados’ National Art Gallery Committee is pleased to announce the continuation of it’s Conservation and Education programme with the visit of the Puerto Rican objects conservator Mr. Angel Santiago-Torres.
Mr. Santiago-Torres is currently restoring the Montefiore Fountain, a public monument dating back to 1864 and located opposite the Coleridge Street Library.

Jerome Radigois, sculptor in residence at Lancaster in 2009 returned to Barbados recently to complete a number of portrait sculptures on the island.
He will be working both from Lancaster Great House and The Star Bar terrace at the Old Pharmacy Gallery in Speightstown.
