Dan Thompson will be running 10 km in five Caribbean countries in five days in August 2014 as part of his Run the World Challenge. Dan has previously run in 21 countries in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Run the World is an extraordinary challenge that has been has been created by Dan, a British businessman and sports enthusiastic who has undertaken to run 10km in every country in the world – a total of 204 countries – by the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Dan is doing this challenge to promote the benefits of sport and physical activity all over the world and to raise money for cancer research following the recent death of his mother from cancer.
Dan will be running in:
- 23rd August : Barbados from Payne’s Bay to Parliament, arriving at approximately 7:00 am
- 24th August (morning) : Trinidad & Tobago
- 24th August (afternoon) : St. Vincent & the Grenadines
- 26th August : St. Lucia
- 27th August : Grenada

Completing five runs in five days, especially combined with all the travel, is going to be physically tough. However I’m very much looking forward to meeting local people – and hopefully running with them! – while promoting the importance of sport and physical activity and raising money for cancer research.”
