The Barbados Accreditation Council again achieves another great milestone in the history of Barbados with the flagship of Institutional Accreditation of one of the region’s oldest campuses of The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus (UWICH).

Accreditation has become increasingly relevant in the environment of tertiary education and training, given the current global competitiveness in the educational sector. More than ever now, the onus of accountability to the public and other stakeholders is upon tertiary institutions to maintain internal quality assurance mechanisms.
The Cave Hill Campus began in 1962, and moved in August, 1967, to its present site at Cave Hill.
